Phase 1 - Data

There was once a time I thought that while people sleep they rest their brains. Unfortunetly for me, I was wrong. Very wrong. It happened one night during a school week. I wasn’t the brightest student, or the best at sports, wasn’t on a team or in any clubs after school, didn’t have many friends (some people might question if I even know the meaning of that term), and didn’t… well I guess I didn’t do much. Anyway, my life was all about one person: me. I usually did what I want when I wanted. My parents weren’t home much so I spent after schools by my self most of the time. My favorite thing to do was try to edit other peoples web pages. Of course they had no idea I was doing it, but that was the fun part. And that’s was where all my problems started.
That night, I was getting ready to do the biggest hack I had ever done. I was going to break into a government network called “Tops” which uses a state of the art Firewall. According to anonymous hackers posting on blogs, a newer version of this program had the capabilities to format the attacking computers hard drive. This challenge was amussing to me. I hadn’t been unsuccessful in my work for a few years. This was the ultimate challenge and I was ready. My software was updated, my glasses were cleaned, and I had my six pack of moutian dew.
As I clicked the link I had book-marked, a chill went through my right hand. Prehaps it was just a draft from my laptop’s exhast, but something in the back of my head told me otherwise. It was like someone was trying to warn me about that cliff I was running toward but I couldn’t see. Unfortunetly for me, I didn’t listen to it. I continued with the plan and began to type… for the last time.
