Lies - Human Nature

Why do we lie? Well, the obvious is that we lie to get outta trouble. Lets take it down further. We lie to benefit ourselves. When do we lie? When we are in trouble. Trouble is a type of situation. So here is the final basic idea: Lies - Help us get into a positive situation when we are at a disadvantage to escape harm. Humans are very interesting creatures. We are basiclly a thinking virus to the earth. Lies started when we did something that others felt was "wrong" or deserved punishment. If we could desieve them into thinking we did not do what they think is wrong, and instead something right, we could escape harm or even death. Thus many a people have escaped punishment well deserved (or what we think is deserved) for a crime by just telling a lie. Lies can come in many forms. All are harmful in some way. OK don't get on me about this "Little White Lie" Bull. Lets say someone's birthday is coming up. Ofcourse you don't want them to know about the party. "No Timmy, there is no party on your birthday! We are just staying at home this year." . . . . . ... do you realize what you have done? You just emotionally damaged the child! He is now thinking "No party?" and starts wondering why there is no party. Those thoughts lead to self examination and thoe thoughts lead to ... well, who likes to explain further hmm? Pretty soon he is hitting himself for something he never did wrong. Yea sure he is all happy and surprised when he gets to the party... but what if next time you tell him there will be no party... and there is none? He will start thinking "Oh wow! Another surprise!" until the last 5 minutes of his birthday when he is sulking in himself about why he deserves a party.
